Sharlston Parish Council will be holding a small commemoration ceremony to mark 30 years since the closure of Sharlston Colliery. This will take place next Saturday, 8th July at 11.00 am at the Red Wheel on Weeland Road. We hope to welcome 2 ex-miners to lead this and share a little bit of the history behind this event.
Following this, Parish Councillors will lay commemorative wreaths at both our Red Wheels.
All are welcome to attend, please share this with any residents or interested parties who may not see this post. If anyone needs assistance with attending, please contact the Clerk at [email protected] or on 07379653672
