No one has given greater service to Sharlston and the Parish Council than Cllr. June Cliffe MBE. She has been involved in voluntary work in and around Sharlston for 60 years and this was recognised by the Queen when she was awarded an MBE in 2013.
In 2015-16, June was Mayor of Wakefield, and her husband Jack was her consort. June also chaired the Parish Council for many years, and represented Sharlston at events far and wide.
We wanted to mark the retirement of our longest serving Parish Councillor with something she would treasure. June chose a inscribed tankard which was presented to her by our Chair, Phil Boyes.
We wish June and Jack a long and happy retirement.
